INT-9602 High Data Rate Antenna (HDR)
Hydraulic Control Unit
Overview
The INT-9602 was built
for U. S. Navy Los Angeles class attack submarines to control the
hydraulics for the antenna mast of an enhanced EHF communications
system. The communications system was developed by NSWCCD-SSES at the
Philadelphia Naval Shipyard.
The INT-9602 accepts
commands from the Ballast Control Panel (BCP) to raise and to lower
the EHF mast. Its embedded processor accepts the commands, validates
the mast and door positions, and energizes solenoids to control the
hydraulic valves. It was built and tested to the very demanding
requirements of the Navy for deployment into the United States Nuclear
attack submarine fleet.
